(Madison County, NY – Dec. 2014) November is the National Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week, held each year the week before Thanksgiving. This is a time for us all to start to think about what we are thankful for, and a perfect time to share our compassion with our neighbors who are experiencing homelessness.

Community Action Partnership has participated in this event for many years.  This year CAP was able to raise awareness and more than 600 hygiene and cleaning products and 50 food items for those families and children in the community experiencing homelessness, hunger or are at risk of homelessness.

The following agencies assisted CAP in this campaign:  BRIDGES, WIC, Liberty Resources, Chittenango Rotary, Department of Health, Sherriff’s Department and the Gorman Foundation.
Items have been distributed to all three of CAP’s offices (Morrisville, Canastota and Oneida) for client use throughout the year, as well as donations to the food pantry.

Established in 1983, CAP is the only not-for-profit, non-governmental agency in Madison County with a mission to serve the low-income community. CAP serves individuals, families, and the community through a variety of programs.
