oneida-public-library(Oneida, NY – Jan. 2015) A new biweekly American poetry discussion group starts up at Oneida Public Library under the guidance of Tom Murray on Tuesday, Jan. 20, at 7 p.m.

Participants at each session of “The Poetry Hour” will discuss a few distinctive works of an established American poet that will be selected and photocopied for the meeting. The poet chosen for the first meeting, Jan. 20, is Emily Dickinson.

Murray, currently OPL’s assistant director, earned a M.A. at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Ph.D. at S.U.N.Y. at Buffalo in American literature.

 OPL closes for Martin Luther King Day

Oneida Public Library will be closed Monday, Jan. 19, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr., Day. The library will be open as usual on Tuesday, Jan. 20, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
