Community Action Partnership is pleased to announce the 20th anniversary of service to the community of its premiere program – Healthy Families of Madison County. It’s a a non-profit program serving expectant moms and dads in Madison County that are overburdened and overstressed.  Offices are located in Oneida, Canastota and Morrisville.  This program is funded by NYS Office of Children & Family Services and was selected as a pilot program in Madison County 20 years ago.

The Healthy Families New York Home visiting program is an evidenced based program offering home-based services to expectant families and new parents, beginning prenatally or shortly after the birth of the child. Participants are screened to identify risk factors and stressors that the family may face. An approved curriculum is used on home visits that focus on parent child interaction and child development. Families who participate in the program are offered long-term in-home services until the child enters Head Start or Kindergarten.

CAP is increasing its efforts to educate the community on the benefits of home visiting. If you are an expectant mom or dad and would like further information about our services, contact Judy Granger at 697-3588 ext 22.  Presentations are also available for community partnerships or anyone interested in learning about our 20 years in Madison County. Over the past 20 years, the program has had a positive impact on hundreds of families in Madison County.

This year in honor of the 20th anniversary CAP invites members of the community to celebrate and share its successes with partners and families throughout the county.  Be watching for notices about CAP’s festive celebration.
