(New Woodstock, NY – April 2015) Six local artisans will join in presenting a unique collection of creative works at the New Woodstock Free Library April 27 to June 5. A reception will be held Saturday, May 2 from 10 a.m. to noon. The free exhibit is open to the public during all regular library hours.
The participant artisans are Alanna Ballard – embroidery, Martha Ryan – scrimshaw and Liliya Swick – bookmaking. Also, Emma Murphy – crocheting, Lisa Wright-Murphy – pyrography (the process of burning designs on wood, leather, etc., with a heated tool) and Corrina Petit – portraiture.
The exhibit brings together a variety of arts and crafts by a diverse group of highly creative people, with a wide array of backgrounds and experience. All share a passion for their craft and a wish to share their work with others.
