(Madison County, NY – May 2015) Community Action Partnership mentors and staff came together to celebrate at its Annual Mentor Appreciation Dinner. Celebrated were all mentors in the program in addition to celebrating the program as a whole.
The evening started with a rolling power point that showcased a snap shot of the year in review. There were photos of mentors and mentees individual outings as well as fun group activities at local places around the county and in nearby Syracuse.
Then everyone was treated to a presentation from Nate Kaercher, the Band Director at Chittenango Middle School for the past 14 years. Kaercher spoke about the importance of reaching out to youth and shared a few personal stories of his own that drove the message home.
Three mentors were acknowledged for being with the program for more than 5 years: JoAnn McGowan, Melissa King and Susan Loper.
Also acknowledged were funders: Madison County Youth Bureau, Department of Social Services, United Way of Greater Oneida, OPWDD and the many local chambers and other organizations that support CAP throughout the year.
