(June 2015) Cora Derocher of Kirkville was awarded a Bachelor’s degree at Assumption College’s 98th Commencement ceremony, graduating with a major in Psychology and a double minor in Marketing and Women’s Studies. The ceremony was held May 16 on the campus’s H.L. Rocheleau Field, where 455 Bachelor of Arts degrees; 195 graduate studies degrees (Master of Arts and Master of Business Administration) and certificates; and 41 Continuing and Career Education degrees (Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Science, and associates) were awarded.

Local Students Named to Dean’s List

A total of 1,553 SUNY Oneonta students earned Dean’s List honors for the spring 2015 semester. To qualify for the Dean’s List, a student must earn a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher while carrying a course load of 12 hours or more.

Class of 2015 graduates from Union College

Members of the Union College Class of 2015 received their diplomas Sunday, June 14. About 500 students received their degrees at the College’s 221st Commencement on Hull Plaza.

Rosette Lanoir of Cazenovia. Lanoir graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in English.

Chase Martin of Cazenovia. Martin graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Mechanical Engineering.

Corey Rivet of Kirkville. Rivet graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Neuroscience.

Students Receive Awards from Clarkson University

The following Clarkson University students received awards at the annual University Recognition Day ceremony in April.

Sean P. Shea of Chittenango, a senior majoring in aeronautical engineering and mechanical engineering, received the following awards:

The Commendable Service Award for Seniors: A limited number of Commendable Service Awards are presented annually to freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors, graduate students, faculty, staff and administration members who have demonstrated quality in service to their area/organization. The award candidate should be a well-rounded individual who excels in all aspects of college life and is especially dedicated to serving his or her organization.

In 2009, a new category was established to recognize individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary support to Clarkson University although they may not be a student or employee of the University. These award winners will be designated “Supporters of the University.”

Jeffrey R. Merrell of Canastota, a senior majoring in civil engineering, received the following awards:

Grosack Named to Dean’s List at Wake Forest University

The following Wake Forest University students have been named to the university’s Dean’s List for Spring 2015. Students who achieve a 3.4 grade point average and no grade below a “C” were named to the list.

Nathaniel Grosack of Cazenovia has been named to the Wake Forest University Spring 2015 Dean’s List.

Palmer Named to SUNY New Paltz Spring Dean’s List

The State University of New York at New Paltz has announced its Dean’s List for the spring 2015 semester. Dean’s List designation is reserved for students who excel academically and earn at least a 3.3 grade-point average in a semester with a full-time course load.
