Madison County Fair(Brookfield, NY – July 2015)The Madison County Youth Bureau is again coordinating free activities in the events tent on Saturday, July 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the 176th Madison County Fair, 1968 Fairgrounds Road in Brookfield.  This is the seventh year for the Youth Tent.  A dozen organizations will be present to offer families the opportunity to participate in games, crafts and fun.  All activities in the Youth Tent are free with paid admission to the Fair.  This is a way for organizations to promote their services while also offering a fun activity for the children who visit the tent. 

“I’m pleased that so many local organizations continue to support this event and offer free activities for children and families,” said Joanne Eddy, Director of the Madison County Youth Bureau.  “We are looking forward to a fun-filled day as we help celebrate the 176th anniversary of the Madison County Fair.”

Groups will host youth activities throughout the day in the Youth Tent.  Play hole-in-one golf with the Madison County Youth Bureau.  The Great Swamp Conservancy will provide learning and fun at the “Year of the Duck” booth.  Create a Make and Take Tambourine made from recycled materials with the Madison County Department of Solid Waste and Recycling.  Meet Dr. Health E. Hound from United Healthcare and learn about health and fitness.  Play the ball toss game and get your face painted by Project Café teens from Cazenovia.  Come meet the Colgate Raider and spin the wheel.  Play the Multiple Choice Canal Q&A Game with the Chenango Canal Association Towpath Trail.  Take a break at the Library Corner and pick out a free book.  Play a game with the Madison County Literacy Coalition and have fun at the Heritage Farms booth.  Meet the Ambassadors to the Dairy Princess and try your luck at the Catholic Charities booth.

Stop at the Youth Bureau booth first and pick up a punch card before visiting the booths to be eligible to win free kids’ prizes.

Entry to the Fair is $3 per person.  Kids under age three are free.  All activities in the Youth Tent are free on Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
