(Hamilton, NY – Aug. 2015) It’s that time of the year again—the annual Friends of the Library book sale is drawing near. We hope you’ll stop by between 10am and 8pm on Friday, Sept. 4 or between 10am and 2pm on Saturday, Sept. 5. Come join in the fun, find wonderful treasures that are “new to you,” and help support the Library.  It’s a wonderful event and good time is had by all.  Many thanks to our Friends of the Library, and all the many volunteers who help lend a hand to make this such a successful event each year.

By donating materials for our annual book sale, by shopping at the sale, or volunteering your time and talents to help this event run smoothly, the community can collectively reuse the materials you’re finished with, giving them new life.  Additionally, the proceeds from the book sale enable the Friends of the Library to help support our Library programs, facilities, and resources above and beyond our basic operating capabilities— using your donated items to further elevate the quality experiences provided through the Hamilton Public Library.

Friends of the LibraryWe encourage people of all ages to visit and use the Library—including older children and teenagers. Our staff and trustees also recognize that patrons at this age level have unique interests and needs and we are actively working toward the development of a Teen Zone in the Library. The Friends of the Library plan to use the proceeds from this year’s book sale to help the Library transform a nook in the front of the building into an age appropriate and inviting space for area “tweens” and teens. Stay tuned for more details, and opportunities to take part in updating this important community space.

Additional information about Library resources, programs and policies, as well as access to our online services, is available through the Library website http://midyorklib.org/hamilton/.  From the website, you can also sign up for our listserv and Wowbrary notices to receive emails about general Library news and newly added materials in our collections.

The Library is normally open Monday-Friday, 10am to 7pm, and Saturday, 10am to1pm. Please visit or call the Library (315) 824-3060 during these hours for assistance. The book drop at the front of the building is always available for your convenience.
