.(Hamilton, NY – Sept. 2015) Madison-Oneida-Herkimer County Reality Check Youth Leaders recently hosted their leaders training at the White Eagle Conference Center in Hamilton.
Reality Check works to reduce youth exposure to tobacco marketing in stores where kids shop and on screen. Reality Check also works to create tobacco free outdoor spaces and housing complexes to reduce second-hand smoke exposure.
Lauren Hysell, 14, of Madison is happy to have had this opportunity.
“I have a younger sister and I want to prevent her from being exposed to advertising so she can make healthy decisions. This is a great opportunity for us to plan for the year and make decisions for how to keep our communities healthy,” Hysell said.
