13th Annual Pumpkin Coloring Contest: Stop in to the library and pick up your pumpkin coloring contest entry starting Oct. 1. You have until Oct. 24 at 4pm to turn in your creations for judging. Open to toddler to 6th graders. Winners will be announced at our Halloween party at the end of the month.
Tai Chi Chuan Class: Come learn Tai Chi Chuan with instructor Bill Snyder. Open to all teens and adults. Best part, it’s FREE. Join us on Monday Oct. 5, 19 and 26 at 6:30pm. Be sure to continue until the end of June.
Kiddies Korner: Bring the little ones in for our preschool story hour on Tuesday Oct. 6 at 10:00am. Help us have fun with “Fall Leaves Fall.”
Essential Oils Class: Join Robin Suarez as she helps us to better our lives naturally on Thursday Oct. 8 at 6:30pm. Essential oils are natural aromatic compounds found in flowers, seeds, bark, roots and other parts of plants. They are powerfully fragrant. They have been used throughout history for their medicinal and therapeutic benefits.
Historic Talk #2- Pvt. Lyons Wakeman: Join Civil War re-enactor, Melanie Martin, as she shares with us about this great “man” on Friday Oct. 9 at 6:30pm.
Landmark’s Day: Join the MHPC at the Engine House up the street at 10am on Saturday Oct. 10 for the Marion Howlett Taylor Award. After the presentation, walk down to the library for a Virtual Tour of our Local Landmarks presented by our Village Historian, Sue Greenhagen. Then if you feel like taking a self-guided walking tour of the local Landmarks, grab a map and head on your way. Grab some refreshments on your way out.
Kiddies Korner: Our preschool story hour is back and we are “Going on a Bear Hunt.” on Tuesday Oct. 13 at 10:00am. Come hear stories, songs, finger plays and more about bears..
Book Talk: The book we will be discussing is James Scott’s The Kept on Friday Oct. 16 at 12:15pm. Be sure to bring your lunch and join in the discussion. Copies can be picked up now.
Kiddies Korner: Our preschool story hour this week will be hearing stories about the alphabet, “From A to Z” on Tuesday Oct. 20 at 10:00am. Bring your preschool child in for this exciting bunch of stories.
Family Movie Night: We are showing the new 2014 version of Poltergeist on Friday Oct. 23 at 7:00pm. This is PG-13 so make sure if you are under 13 to bring your parent or guardian. Popcorn will be provided. Just bring your own beverage.

Halloween Party: Wear your costumes and join us for a spooky celebration on Friday Oct. 30 at 6:30pm. We will not only announce the winners of the pumpkin coloring contest, but play fun and games and make cool crafts too.
