(Oneida, NY – Oct. 2015) Educator and storyteller Elaine Clark returns to Oneida Public Library Thursday evening Oct. 15 at 7 p.m., to lead the New Pajama Story Hour, which brings together parents and children aged 5 to 8 years old to share stories, games and activities geared to boost the children’s reading skills.
This literacy program is based on standard studies that show reading skills in young children, in terms of word recognition and comprehension, can be enhanced by parental participation in the child’s book reading followed by discussion of the book. The New Pajama Story Hour also emphasizes the joy of reading stories and the opening up of a child’s imagination.
All early literacy programs at the library are free and open to the public.
