Hamilton Public Library News
By Hilary Virgil, Library Director
(Hamilton, NY – Oct. 2015) One of the important ways the Library serves the community is by providing engaging, high-quality programs and equitable access to arts and enrichment opportunities for people of all ages, abilities, and socioeconomic backgrounds. More and more, our staff members are increasingly busy working hard to meet the growing administrative responsibilities of running a contemporary Library. This necessitated hiring a part-time staff member who will focus on continuing our tradition of quality community event offerings and art exhibitions.
It is my pleasure to introduce Caitlin Pfohl as our Program & Events Coordinator. Caitlin has a wealth of experience teaching, event planning, and marketing. She also feels strongly about the importance public Libraries serve within the community and shares our vision for developing and presenting Library programs here. We have been very impressed not only with Caitlin’s experience, but also her personality, energy, poise, and creativity and are confident she will be an asset to our Library and the greater community.
Caitlin has hit the ground running and is already busy planning and preparing to host programs this fall including— an Animals of Halloween Program with Rogers Environmental Education Center, a Literary Pumpkin decorating event and contest co-sponsored with Hamilton Village Real Estate, Teen Read Week co-sponsored with the Colgate Bookstore and Hamilton Movie Theater, an art and literature event featuring Machine Project artist Mercedes Teixido in partnership with Colgate University, and a book signing with local author Art Zimmer.
Please visit our circulation desk, website, or facebook page for more information about these and other Library sponsored events.
