(Bridgeport, Fayetteville, NY – Oct. 2015) September was the beginning of a new meeting year for the Fayettteville-Owahgena Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
In keeping with the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution commitment to Vietnam War veterans, the Fayetteville – Owahgena Chapter partnered with the United States of America Vietnam War 50th Anniversary Commemoration committee to “thank and honor veterans of the Vietnam War, including personnel who were held as prisoners of war (POW) or listed as missing in action (MIA), for their service on behalf of the United States and to “thank and honor the families of those veterans who served in uniform from Nov. 1, 1955 to May 15, 1975.
At a recent meeting, the chapter was honored to have Robert Kincaid a former US Marine Corp Vietnam Veteran present a very informative program sharing his tour of duty.
Kincaid was deployed to Quang Tri and from there on to Camp Griffen as an outpost in the northern part of South Vietnam. From this camp they swept roads for mines, supported the infantry and built or repaired structures on various bases. They also destroyed ordinances, unexploded bombs, and enemy structures.
The chapter joins a grateful Nation to honor Kincaid in recognition of Valor, Service and Sacrifice during the Vietnam War.
Bob and his wife Roberta live on Shackleton Point Road in Bridgeport.
