(Cazenovia, NY – Oct. 2015) The Greater Cazenovia Area Chamber of Commerce welcomes everyone to an autumn community celebration. Spend the day or the weekend enjoying music, food and horse drawn hayrides or engage in the block party, dancing, or 5K “Pumpkin Run.”
Friday night visitors can view celebratory fireworks at Lakeland Park, then come dance under the stars at 7 p.m. in Cannon Park. Kick up your heels at the country line dance, which will be led by local dance instructor Sue Odell.
Saturday, amble through the village filled with sounds of music performed by local musicians.
The Great Pumpkin Contest will be located in the heart of the festive village. The contest is open to anyone who wants to enter their carved pumpkin masterpiece for a chance to win great prizes.
Welcome in the harvest season at the block party on Seminary Street from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.where games, bounce houses and a rock climbing wall could work up an appetite. Offerings include the Cazenovia Fire House chicken barbecue and the Rotary Club hot dog and chili booth.
Then take a stroll through the streets looking for that perfect gift or treasure at the shops, vendor showcase or Fall Farmer’s Market.
Celebrating the spirit of Halloween, little goblins will make masks at the Cazenovia Library and join the trick or treat parade wearing their freshly made mask or favorite Halloween costumes.
As the night falls and the air turns crisp, all are invited to gather for a “Walk Among the Spirits” in Evergreen Cemetery at 7 p.m.
