(Town of Lincoln, NY – Oct. 23, 2015) An employee of the Madison County Department of Solid Waste\ and Sanitation was arrested on Oct. 20 after a three month investigation.
Thomas J. Kenyon, 41, of State Route 80 in Georgetown was arrested by Madison County Sheriff’s Investigators on Tuesday.
Investigators were informed that Kenyon was allegedly taking diesel fuel from county-owned fuel pumps at the County Landfill on Buyea Road for use in his personal truck.
During the investigation it was further discovered that he was also stealing shale, tools, oxygen/acetylene/argon gas tanks, small truck tires, dump truck parts and dump truck batteries with a combined value of several thousand dollars.
Kenyon resigned from his position as a mechanic just prior to arrest.
Kenyon has been charged with four (4) counts of Petit Larceny (class A Misdemeanor), one (1) count of Official Misconduct (class A Misdemeanor), two (2) counts of fourth-degree Grand Larceny (class E Felony) and four (4) counts of first-degree Offering a false instrument for filing (class E Felony).
He was arraigned in front of the honorable Judge Herbert Kissel and remanded to the Madison County Jail on $5,000.00 cash or $10,000.00 bond. He has since posted bail and is to appear in Lincoln Town Court on Dec. 3 to answer charges.
