Churches of Madison County Exhibition(Oneida, NY – Oct. 2015) Join the Madison County Historical Society “Churches of Madison County” exhibit opening at the Society Nov. 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. Pastor Kevin Bailey will open the exhibition, presenting a brief overview of churches in Madison County.

Bailey’s presentation will highlight the impact churches have had on the communities they have served over the centuries. A little history, a little humor and colorful slides will be enjoyed from his presentation, entitled, “From Spirit to Spirits.”

Bailey co-Pastors the Vernon, Verona and Cochran Memorial Churches along with Peg Ward.  Both are Lay Pastors in the Presbyterian denomination.

Kevin and his wife Linda are longtime residents of Oneida. Linda owns Better Hearing of Madison County, LLC in Oneida. They have three children and four grand-children to keep them busy and happy.

Kevin is also a musician who plays and sings for various functions (like the Madison County Historical Society’s upcoming Christmas Open House Dec. 6). He is also a Biblical Storyteller.

 

The “Churches of Madison County,” exhibit showcases loaned items from the following churches: Brookfield First Baptist Church, Brookfield 7th Day Baptist Church, Brookfield First Baptist Church, Brookfield 7th Day Baptist Church, West Brookfield Community Church, North Brookfield Baptist Church, West Brookfield Community Church, Leonardsville United Methodist Church, Federated Church of New Woodstock, Bouckville United Methodist Church, First Baptist Church of Canastota, Oneida Lake Congregational Church, Quality Hill Church, Free Church of Canastota, St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church of Chittenango, The Welsh Church, East Hamilton United Methodist Church, First Baptist Church of Madison, First Congregational Church of Madison, Madison United Methodist Church, Madison Universalist  Church, Nelson United Methodist Church, Erieville United Methodist Church, Federated Church of New Woodstock, New Woodstock Methodist Church, North Brookfield Baptist Church, St. John’s Episcopal Church of Oneida, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Oneida, Oneida Baptist Church, St. Paul’s United Methodist Church of Oneida, St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church of Oneida, DeRuyter 7th Day Baptist Church, Peterboro United Methodist Church, Baptist Church of Christ of Peterboro, Church of Peterboro, Peterboro Community Church, Siloam Methodist Episcopal Church, and the Presbyterian Church of Smithfield.

Church historians will be in attendance to share their stories.

This event is free and open to the public.

Refreshments will be served.

The exhibition is on view from Nov. 17 through Feb. 1 of next year.
