(Town of Eaton, NY – Oct. 2015) This weekend the Historic Eaton Cemetery will be hosting a special cemetery tour Saturday Oct. 31 at 1:30 pm. The tour will be hosted by former Madison County Historian Back Street Mary Messere and will feature stories on all of the famous and not so famous people of Eaton.
The cemetery dates to the 1790’s and was incorporated by its current cemetery association in 1856. Set with the backdrop of fall colors it’s an ideal place to walk and learn history on this special Halloween Day tour.
The cemetery is located just off of Route 26 in Eaton on Landon Road, which has its own history since it was the route of the great Skaneateles Turnpike.
The tour is a free will donation with all donations, sales of shirts and books, to benefit the Eaton Village Cemetery Association.

As an added feature, the Old Town of Eaton Museum will be hosting an open house from 1 to 3 p.m. The museum located on River Road just off of Route 26 in Eaton has a collection of information on early Eaton with displays and videos.
