(Hamilton, NY – Nov. 2015) Children ages 3 and older are invited to stop by the Library anytime from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11 to build something creative. A special display of books featuring Legos, architecture, design and building construction will also be available for you to browse during this informal building time. Please note that the Library will be closed on the 11th for Veterans Day and the event will take place in the community room; you can head right to the back entrance of the Library, just off of the municipal parking lot, to join the party.
Explore the languages of the world from your Library. Mid York Library System’s New Service Transparent Language Online provides unlimited access to more than 90 online language courses. Transparent Language offers learning through writing, speaking, pronunciation practice, and conversation with native speakers. Learn on your own time, at your own pace. Join Connie Huang, our Digital Services and Outreach Coordinator, in the community room on Thursday Nov. 12 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. to learn how to access Transparent Language Online courses. The Library will be hosting a Hobbit-themed party from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14. Join us to celebrate one of the most beloved and classic fantasy novels of all time. Ages 11 and older are welcome to come spend time enjoying Hobbit trivia, puzzles, contests and more. A collection of J.R.R. Tolkien books will be available to browse and borrow during this time. Please call or stop by the Library to sign up for this event in advance. As always, costumes are welcome and encouraged.
The Library is normally open Monday-Friday, 10am to 7pm, and Saturday, 10am to1pm. Please visit or call the Library (315) 824-3060 during these hours for assistance. The book drop at the front of the building is always available for your convenience.
