Niejadlik named NEAC All-Conference in Volleyball

(Morrisville, NY – Nov. 2015) The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced its 2015 Women’s Volleyball All-Conference selections, naming Morrisville State College freshman outside hitter, Emilee Niejadlik (Hamburg, N.Y.) to its second team.

Niejadlik led Morrisville State in hitting this season, posting a total 183 kills across 79 sets played for a .149 hitting percentage. On the season she added 99 defensive digs, and 37 total blocks at the net in the Mustangs defensive efforts.

Niejadlik finished ranked 10th in NEAC play in kills (104), 10th in kills per set (2.67) and was 10th in assisted blocks (16).The freshman was twice named to an all-tournament team, and posted a single match high of 19 kills in the loss to Penn St. Berks.

Six times on the season she was in double figures for kills, including in conference matches against Bryn Athyn, Penn State Abington, and Lancaster Bible.

A graduate of Hamburg High, Niejadlik is majoring in natural resources conservation at Morrisville State. She is the daughter of Debbie and Michael Welch and Helene & Michael Niejadlik of Hamburg.

 Four Named to NEAC Women’s Cross Country Teams

The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announced its 2015 Women’s Cross Country teams Saturday, naming four from Morrisville State College to its first, second and third teams following the Championship meet at Jamestown State Park.

Freshman Raylene Wade (Red Creek, N.Y.) secured first team accolades following her seventh overall finish at the Championships. Wade, who led the Morrisville State pack, finished the 6K race with a time of 25:33 and was followed closely by senior Laura Harmon (Millford, N.Y.) who collected second team honors with her eighth overall place finish in 25:55.

Evelia Hehir (Washingtonville, N.Y.) and Maura Conlon (Marcy, N.Y.) each earned third team recognition, finishing in 16th and 21st positions individually.

The women finished third overall at the championships in team standings, missing second by just one point.

Wade will continue the season Saturday, Nov. 14 at the 2015 NCAA Division III Cross Country Mideast Regional Championships held at Bid Spring High School in Newville, Pa.

NEAC Names Men’s Cross Country Teams

The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced its 2015 Men’s Cross Country All-Conference teams, naming three from Morrisville State to its first and second teams following their individual finishes at the Championship Meet on Saturday at Jamesville State Park.

Junior Byron Evans (Cazenovia, N.Y.) took home first team honors for a second straight year, leading the Morrisville State pack with his second overall finish in the 8K race, crossing the finish line in 26:50.

Senior Anthony Ostuni (Liverpool, N.Y.) also secured a spot on the All-Conference first team, finishing sixth overall with a time of 28:09, while senior Richard Terpening (Syracuse, N.Y.) earned second team accolades with his ninth place overall finish in 29:01.

Terpening is a repeat selection on the All-Conference teams.

Morrisville State finished in third overall in team standings at the meet, and will continue the season on Saturday, Nov. 14 at the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional held at Big Spring High School in Newville, Pa.
