(Canastota, NY – Nov. 2015) The 2015 New York State FBLA District 7 Fall Conference was held at Herkimer County BOCES on Friday, Nov. 6. Fourteen Canastota High School members and nine Junior High members attended along with more than 160 other members from throughout Madison, Oneida, and Herkimer counties.
The meeting was conducted by the New York State Vice President for District 7, Elijah Sullivan, from Oneida High School. Canastota senior, Nichole Delaney, who currently serves as the New York State Treasurer assisted.
Workshops were presented to the membership in attendance on topics such as Public Speaking, FBLA Program of Work, FBLA 411, Business Ethics, and Job Interview. Several professionals from the area presented workshops to the membership.
Canastota members Lindsey Smith, Rebecca Winchell and Nichole Delaney also presented workshops during the event.
LeMoyne College student, Alex Moses, who currently serves as the New York State President of Phi Beta Lambda (the college level of FBLA,) served as the keynote speaker.
While at the meeting, Julia DiVeronica was appointed as the District 7 Representative for Madison County.
The next district meeting will be held on Jan. 7 at Morrisville State College.
