(Oneida, NY – Dec. 2015) It’s that time of year again, and Nye Automotive is ready to make the 32nd Annual Share A Caring Christmas event bigger and better than ever.
On Saturday Dec. 12 members of the community are invited to donate new and gently used toys that will go to making a happier holiday season for those in need. The drop-off location will be at Nye Ford, located at 1479 Genesee St. in Oneida, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
More than 30 years ago, Carol Neveu and Harold Nye both had a dream to help others and created a program designed to bring the community together and celebrate the holiday season by giving back. What began as a community outreach plan for employees, Share A Caring Christmas has grown in popularity, and is considered an annual tradition of many area families, schools, and businesses that collect toys and donate to this great cause, every holiday season.
In 2014, the Nye Share A Caring Christmas helped more than 700 families in five counties have a happier holiday season.
Nye Automotive will be working alongside the Salvation Army to ensure that no family in need goes without a gift for the holidays. Nye Automotive would also like to recognize AmeriCU as a proud supporter of Share A Caring Christmas. This year’s event will feature a full schedule of performances by local artists and groups that will be on hand to entertain guests.
Share A Caring Christmas has evolved into one of central New York’s favorite holiday events that the people of Utica, Rome, and Oneida areas look forward to, year after year. If you’d like to make a difference in a child’s life and brighten up the holidays for a family in need, visit Nye Ford on Dec. 12 and donate a new or gently used toy.
And don’t forget to bring the kids for a visit with Santa and his reindeer.
