(Oneida, NY- Dec. 2015) Outdoorsman and writer Leo Maloney will be appearing at Oneida Public Library on Saturday Dec. 19 at 11 a.m. to discuss the many opportunities in Central New York for winter hunting and fishing.

Maloney, who has been writing a weekly column on the outdoors for the Oneida Daily Dispatch for more than 35 years, is an inductee into the New York State Outdoorsmen Hall of Fame and the winner of the 2014 M. Paul Kessler New York Outdoor Citizen Award given by the state’s Outdoors Writers Association.

He has also served as an editor of Adirondack Outdoors Magazine and for some 20 years worked as a staff writer and regional editor for New York Sportsmen magazine.

Besides writing about the outdoors, Maloney remains an avid hunter and fisherman. He will call upon his decades of experience at the library program Dec. 19 by offering tips and advice about getting the most out of the area’s hunting and fishing resources.

For more information, stop by the Oneida Library at 220 Broad St., or call 363-3050.
