(Sherburne, NY – Feb. 2016) With low temperatures and non-stop precipitation typical of the winter season, many are left with an all-too-familiar conundrum: How can you have fun during cold, dreary days? Friends of Rogers has a solution you just might warm up to.
On Feb. 27, Rogers Center in Sherburne will host the inaugural “Teddy Bear Snuggle,” when guests will be led through various songs and stories by the fire, during what is sure to be the perfect activity for anyone looking to escape winter weather conditions.
“Visiting Rogers Center is fun in all seasons,” said Jenni Larchar, Children’s Program coordinator. “Snuggling up with your favorite plush friend, listening to stories by the fireplace, is a great way to shake off winter’s chill.”
Visitors are encouraged to bring along a blanket and favorite stuffed friend, as the group will embark on magical adventures through storybook pages, and enjoy tasty snacks throughout the morning.
“We are very excited to host the ‘Teddy Bear Snuggle’ this winter,” said Simon Solomon, Friends of Rogers executive director. “Offering new programs like this means the fulfillment of our mission in a dynamic way.”
The “Teddy Bear Snuggle” will take place from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the Bird Cabin at Rogers Environmental Education Center, just off state Route 80 in Sherburne. Pre-registration is highly encouraged; admission is $5 for families who are Friends of Rogers members, and $8 for those families who are not-yet-members.
