This year, the Canastota Canal Town Museum and the Public Library are holding two of our Canalside Talks in the spring and two talks in the fall.
These events are free and open to the public; all talks will be at 7 p.m. at the library.
On Tuesday, March 22, Sarah M. Flick, Site Director of the Matilda Joslyn Gage Center in Fayetteville will present “The Cost of Conscience: Matilda Joslyn Gage and the Women’s Movement.”
The presentation will discuss the women’s movement and the political conflicts between Susan B. Anthony and Matilda Joslyn Gage.
Sarah Flick is a passionate women’s rights advocate. She is a graduate of Syracuse University’s Maxwell School with a degree in policy studies and political science.
On Wednesday, April 20, Susanne Greenhagen, Historian for the Village of Morrisville, will offer “A Living History,” a program on the 19th Century crime family, the Loomis Gang.
