The Canastota Public Library will soon be showing films of recently released DVDs at their location.

On Thursday, March 10, The 33 will be shown at the library at 6 p.m. This true story begins Aug. 5, 2010, as a copper and gold mine collapses in Chile. It traps 33 men underground. With more than 2,000 feet of rock in their way, members of a rescue team work tirelessly for 69 days to save the seemingly doomed crew.Beneath the rubble, the miners begin

Beneath the rubble, the miners begin an epic quest to survive, contending with suffocating heat and the need for food and water. With family, friends and the rest of the world watching, it becomes a race against time and a true test of the human spirit. Starring Antonio Banderas, Rodrigo Santoro, Juliette Binoche, this movie runs 127 minutes long and is rated PG13.

A second movie, Disney’s The Good Dinosaur, will be shown Saturday, March 12, at 1 p.m. In a world where dinosaurs and humans live side-by-side, an Apatosaurus named Arlo makes an unlikely human friend. This PG rated movie is 93 minutes long and features the voices of Jeffrey Wright, Frances McDormand, Maleah Nipay-Padilla.

Both movies will be shown in the Lawson Community Room on the lower level of the library. Both programs are free and open to the public.
