(Nelson – March 18) Cody M. Warner, 19, of Morrisville; Cory M. Lyrek, 26, of Erieville and Cameron G. Thompson, 19, of Cazenovia, were all transported to SUNY Upstate Medical University after an early morning one-car collision yesterday. All were listed in critical condition as of publication. Deputies continue to investigate the collision, which occurred at about 1:25 a.m. on Old State Road between Stearns and Hall roads in the town of Nelson.
Attempts to transport two of the victims by helicopter were unsuccessful due to weather. Erieville Fire/Rescue, Cazenovia Fire/Rescue, Eaton Ambulance, CAVAC Ambulance, Onondaga County Air 1 and SUNY Morrisville Police assisted on the scene.
Old State Road was re-opened to traffic at approximately 10:20 a.m. after accident reconstruction work was completed; the investigation continues.
