The Partnership for Community Development is committed to promoting Hamilton’s natural recreational resources. By working alongside other community organizations, individuals and communities, the Partnership for Community Development has developed the Hamilton Community Recreation Initiative.
The goals of the Hamilton Community Recreation Initiative are three-fold; make physical improvements to our trail system, enhance accessibility and visibility of our resources through consistent signage, and develop a user-friendly website showcasing our local outdoor activities.
A public meeting will be held at the Hamilton Public Library Saturday, April 9, from 10 a.m. to noon; community members are invited to attend, learn more about the community-wide initiative and share their opinions on project goals. One of the first objectives of the HCRI was completion of a study of the trail system by students from Cornell University’s Urban Planning department. The results of this study and visual renderings of the trail design to-date will be available.
We at the PCD believe by improved marketing of our natural resources and promotion both locally and regionally, we can inspire and promote physical activity, increase usage of our recreational amenities and encourage community wellness.
