Computer classes and technology tutoring continue to be available free to the public at Utica Public Library. Whether you are a Utica resident or not, all are welcome to participate.

Need a more personal instructional setting to learn more about your tablet, smartphone, or computer?  Private tutoring is available free of charge. Whether you are curious about a particular program or just need someone to show you around an electronic device, our instructors are happy to help. Simply call Jocelyn at 735-2279 x219.
Please see the list below for computer classes and drop-in sessions being offered in April. Registration is required for all of the following classes except Drop-In Computer Help. Registration is available online at www.uticapubliclibrary.org/calendar, by phone 735-2279 ext. 207, or in-person at the library’s reference desk.
  · Drop-In Computer Help  (Wednesdays 2:00 – 4:00 & Saturdays 3:00 – 4:30)

Having trouble downloading library ebooks to your device? Need some help navigating Windows 10? Curious about social networking? Bring your technology questions and get one-on-one assistance.

· Computer Basics (April 7-810:30 – 12:00)

This hands-on, two day course is designed for beginners who want to understand the basics of operating a computer. Students will learn computer terminology, how to use a mouse, create documents, manage files, and search the Internet.

· Introduction to Microsoft Word (April 14-1510:00 – 12:00)

We will be going over common tasks in Microsoft Word version 2010 including formatting text, modifying page layout, and line spacing.

· Advanced Microsoft Word   (April 20-22, 10:30 – 12:00)

In this three day class, students will expand your word processing skills by learning mail merge, arranging text with images, inserting hyperlinks, and screenshots.

· iPad Basics (April 29, 10:00 – 12:00)

This class will cover getting started with an iPad, using the touchscreen, managing and downloading apps, connecting to Wi-Fi, using the camera, and browsing the Web with Safari.

· Facebook Basics (April 30, 10:30 – 12:00)

Whether you already have an account or you are just curious about Facebook, come see what the hype is all about. We will be going over the layout, how to create posts, upload images, view privacy settings, and other common tasks on Facebook.

All classes are held at Utica Public Library, 303 Genesee Street, in the upstairs computer training room.
