Reward being offered for recovery
The International Boxing Hall of Fame is asking the boxing community for continued assistance into the investigation of six stolen championship belts, four won by Carmen Basilio and two won by Tony Zale.
Since the November 5th break-in there has been an active, ongoing investigation led by the Canastota Police Department. Canastota Police Chief Jim Zophy has involved other law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, to assist in the investigation.
The Boxing Hall of Fame is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual (s) who stole the six championship belts, together with the return of these belts.
