Testament to Grassroots Support, Commonsense Conservative Record
Yesterday Claudia Tenney, Republican for Congress, filed over 3,600 signatures—nearly three times the minimum required—to qualify for the Republican Primary ballot on June 28. Tenney was the only candidate to file on the first day the filing period opened.
“I want to thank the hundreds of Republicans and conservatives that circulated petitions on my behalf,” Tenney said. “The fact that we were the only candidate to file our petitions day one is a testament to our grassroots, people powered campaign.”
“I believe people across the 22nd District are standing with our campaign because they want leaders with real world experience who are willing to fight for us—and stand up to the self-serving political class in Albany and Washington that is destroying our economy, weakening the middle class and diminishing a once bright future for the next generation. My opponents will no doubt buy their way onto the ballot and outspend us, but voters will recognize they are going to offer more of the same failed status quo that rewards the political elites while punishing the rest of us.”
Claudia Tenney also turned in over 500 signatures to appear on the conservative line. In March, the Conservative Party of New York \ endorsed Claudia for Congress.
Tenney is a conservative in the New York State Assembly and won conservative legislator of the year in 2011. Tenney is endorsed by the Conservative Party of New York State, Citizens United, Family Research Council, New Yorkers for Constitutional Freedoms, the New Hartford Republican Committee and the Oswego County Republican Committee. Tenney has an A-Rating from the National Rifle Association, and was SCOPE Legislator of the Year in 2014. Tenney was the first legislator to call for Sheldon Silver’s resignation in 2012 and the first to introduce the full repeal of the unconstitutional SAFE Act.
