Desormeau, MichaelOn Feb. 5, State Police in Adams investigated a petit larceny complaint from a Walmart store that involved Michael J. Desormeau, 27, who was residing at the Royal Inn, room 209, located at 25791 State Route 37, in the Town of Pamelia, Jefferson County.

As a result of the larceny investigation, information was developed that Desormeau may be linked to the illegal manufacture of methamphetamine. The Community Narcotics Enforcement Team was contacted and responded.  Upon further investigation by CNET, information was developed to support a search warrant for room 209 at the Royal Inn.

A search warrant was signed by Honorable Anthony Cassleman, Town of Pamelia Court.  On this date, Desormeau was committed to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building on the petit larceny arrest while the illegal manufacturing of methamphetamine investigation continued.

The search warrant was executed by members of the NYSP Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team, CNET and uniform Troopers and items commonly used to illegally manufacture methamphetamine were recovered from the room. The following items were removed from the room: an HCL gas generator, lithium batteries, lye, Sudafed packaging & blister packs, ice packs, straws and other miscellaneous meth trash.

It was determined there was no imminent danger to other patrons of the Royal Inn.

On April 26, Desormeau was arrested for third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine (a class D felony). He was arraigned before Cassleman and committed to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building on $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 bail bond.
