downloadSyracuse Oasis and SUNY Upstate Medical University are hosting a series of concerts by local artists, beginning on May 18, 2016. All concerts begin at 11:00 AM. Syracuse Oasis is located at 6333 State Route 298, East Syracuse. The fee for each concert is $15.00; registration can be made in person at Syracuse Oasis, by U.S. Mail, or online by visiting www.oasisnet.org/Syracuse.

The first concert on Wednesday, May 18, will feature the Silverwood Clarinet Choir, presenting “Many Moods of Music”. The artists will take you through many periods and styles of music with some entertaining, educational and stimulating selections.

The second concert will be Wednesday, June 15, featuring flutists Dana DiGennaro and Kelly Covert. They are active regionally and nationally, and are frequent collaborators with Syracuse Symphoria and the Society for New Music. Their repertoire includes masterworks presented in an audience-friendly way.

The final concert of the season will be Wednesday, July 20, and will feature concert pianist Andrew Russo. He is a Grammy nominee, a Van Cliburn pianist, a long-time Oasis performer, and former Oasis Artistic Director. He will perform Ravel’s Miroirs Suite.

Syracuse Oasis is part of the National Oasis Institute, a pioneer in the field of healthy aging, providing education enrichment for those over the age of fifty since 1982. The Oasis Institute is a 4-Star Charity Navigator organization and a member of the S&I 100 Index of the top-performing nonprofits. Some of the programs are free of charge, but the majority are fee-based.
