Lynn Gray, Rotary President, is pleased to announce that the Herkimer Rotary Club has renamed itself. The organization is now to be known as Mohawk Valley Rotary Club. By changing the name to reflect a larger locality, it is hoped that there will be an opportunity to gain a larger membership. Although the Herkimer Club has always serviced the communities of Mohawk, Ilion, Frankfort as well as Herkimer, most people assumed from the original name, that the Rotary Club only served Herkimer.
Mohawk Valley Rotary Club President, Lynn Gray, said “We love our new name and hope that it encourages new members to join us at our rotary club, it is an exciting time to be a part of Rotary and we look forward to adding more community members to our club”
The Mohawk Valley Rotary club, district 7150, wants the community to know that the members of the Club are active in all four villages: Mohawk, Ilion, Frankfort and Herkimer. By choosing the name “Mohawk Valley” the club feels that it is more inclusive to all.
