Kenneth L HutchinsonOn Sunday May 1 at approximately 5:33 p.m., State Police in Fulton responded to a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident on County Route 8 in the Town of Granby, Oswego County. Investigation at the scene revealed a tan minivan traveling northbound on County Route 8 crossed the center line, sideswiping a vehicle traveling southbound.

A second vehicle traveling southbound drove off the road into an embankment to avoid behind hit head on by the minivan, causing damage to the second vehicle. Witnesses advised Troopers the suspect vehicle had continued northbound following the accident. Troopers located the suspect vehicle on County Route 8 in Minetto and interviewed the operator, Kenneth L. Hutchinson, 27, of Hannibal.

Investigation revealed Hutchinson was driving while impaired by drugs and had three passengers under the age of 16 in the vehicle.

Hutchinson was taken into custody and transported to SP Fulton where he was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, both unclassified misdemeanors; three counts of aggravated DWI: driving while intoxicated with a passenger under 16 years of age, a class E felony; three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor, and multiple vehicle and traffic law violations.

Hutchinson was arraigned in Granby Town Court where his license was revoked for refusal to submit to a chemical test, and he was remanded to the Oswego County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bail bond. He is scheduled to return to Granby Town Court Monday, May 2, at 7 p.m.
