On May 4 at approximately 10:05 p.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-90 at Exit 25 for a traffic violation. The driver of the vehicle, Jesenia L. Espinoza, 39, of Schenectady, was found to be intoxicated and in possession of cocaine.
She was transported and processed at SP Albany where her blood-alcohol content was determined to be 0.14 percent.
Additionally, she has a prior DWI conviction within the last 10 years and is required to operate a vehicle with an ignition interlock device. As a result, she was subsequently charged with:
- Driving while intoxicated, a class E felony;
- Fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class C felony;
- First-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a class E felony;
- Operating a motor vehicle with no ignition interlock device, a class A misdemeanor; and
- Multiple vehicle and traffic violations.
Espinoza was arraigned in Guilderland Town Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or bond.
