The second annual Farmers’ Market at Cottage Lawn is set to open May 17 on the grounds of the Madison County Historical Society located at 435 Main St., Oneida.
The market, open every Tuesday from 3- 7 pm will feature fresh local, seasonal produce, pastured meats, cheeses, dog treats, honey, maple products, soaps, candles, breads, herbs, baked goods, salsas, jam, hops, ice cream, candy, popcorn, wine and much more from 20 vendors.
The following are participating in the market:1041 Fairview Farm; 7 Tree Dairy Goats; Amber Nut Butters, B & S Sweet Treats; CreamCycle; Debrucque Greenhouses; Deborah’s Sweet Treats, Foothill Hops Farm; Heartstone Bakery from Alambria Springs Farm; Hive Botanicals; Happy Pasture Farm; Jake’s Gouda Cheese; Nelson Farms; Shaw’s Maple Products; Sweet Indulgence Bakery; The Toast of Canastota; Wincrest Bulk Foods; Montezuma Winery; Stone Age Winery; and Victorianbourg Wine Estate.
The historical society’s headquarters, Cottage Lawn, built in 1849, embodies the picturesque Gothic Revival architectural style and provides the perfect backdrop for the market. Cottage Lawn is located on Main Street (Route 46) a mile North of Route 5 in the City of Oneida and is centrally located to neighboring towns within a 20-mile radius.
There are many exciting things planned throughout the 18-week run of the market from: Kid seeding planting day; Taste of Oneida (recipe exchange and cooking demonstration), Kid’s day; Bike to the market (bike safety day and awareness courtesy of City of Oneida Rec. Dept.- Oneida Rail Trail.); Pet adoption day; Race car day and local business day.
