SADD_Color jpeg logoCazenovia students completed a “Sticker Shock” campaign on Thursday, May 12.  Martin Kelly, the advisor of Students Against Destructive Decisions gathered a group of dedicated and hard-working students after school. They put 800 “Have A Plan” STOP-DWI stickers on bags that were donated by local businesses.

This was done to raise awareness around drinking and driving during prom and graduation seasons. Several pizza places partnered and agreed to put 350 of the STOP-DWI stickers on their pizza boxes.

Local schools in Madison County will be having their proms through the month.

The “Sticker Shock” project is designed to capitalize on community activism, cooperative efforts, and collective responsibilities to combat underage drinking, drinking and driving and its related problems. The project not only educates citizens, businesses, educational institutions… about the consequences of drinking, but also ensures that everyone receives a consistent message.

The Office of the Sheriff and BRiDGES sponsored the activity and would like to thank Cazenovia Pizza, Critz Farms, Caz Sports Bowl, McKinnon Liquors and Owahgena Pizza for partnering with the Cazenovia SADD group.
