Oneida police patchWilliam D. Winchell, 37, Route 26, Vernon, was charged May 18 with second-degree assault, a class D felony, and second-degree criminal trespass. Winchell is alleged to have refused to leave another person’s property when told to and to have assaulted another person by throwing the person to the ground where the victim’s head struck a concrete curb, to have struck the victim in the head with a closed fist andto have gouged at the victim’s eyes causing injuries including a concussion, broken orbital bone, temporary vision loss and impaired vision. He was arraigned and committed to Madison County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 bail bond.

Jamie L. McCoppin, 44, Fitch St., Oneida, was charged May 17 with second-degree harassment.

Allen N. Greathouse, 22, Main St., Camden, was charged May 17 with petit larceny. He is alleged to have stolen cash while working at Wal-Mart.

Darrell F. Stevens, 52, no address available, was issued a criminal summons May 18 on a charge of trespass. He is alleged to have entered a store from which he was previously banned.

Gary R. Olmstead, 55, Fitch St., Oneida, was issued an appearance ticket May 18 on a charge of city ordinance violation- unlicensed junk yard.
