farmers marketCome to the Oxford Farmers’ Market this Saturday to find out about fresh, foraged food from familiar faces. Local wild foragers Canice Paliotta and L. E. Mills return to the market to lead a new wild edibles workshop this Saturday, May 28, 10 am to 12 noon.

The workshop will focus on how to identify, harvest, and prepare common “weeds” that are plentiful, delicious, and safe to forage. To help us become familiar with choice wild edibles throughout our region, there will be plant specimens, photographs, and reference books on hand. Pick up your copy of the Oxford Farmers’ Market cookbook that includes recipes for springtime wild edibles.

The Oxford Farmers’ Market takes place every Saturday, 9 am to 12 noon, from now through September. Market vendors offer fresh-picked, locally grown produce, flowers, herbs, farm-fresh eggs, pastured chicken and rabbit, maple syrup, honey, and preserves, and a wide variety of baked goods. Also available are handcrafted items, fiber products, natural soaps, and plants. All products at the Oxford Farmers’ Market are made by neighbors you can meet, hands you can shake.
