As the old saying goes, one person’s ‘junk’ is another person’s ‘treasure!’ With this in mind, Friends of Rogers is hosting their inaugural Community Yard Sale on June 11 from 8 until 11:30 am in the main visitor parking lot.
Admission is free and the event will take place rain or shine.
The Community Yard Sale is an opportunity to make extra money or purchase gently used items at bargain prices. Community members can reserve a space to sell used items, such as clothes, electronics, and a variety of household items. Spots are available for as little as $8 and must be reserved by noon on June 10.
“We are very excited about extending our mission through our first-ever Community Yard Sale,” said Simon Solomon, Friends of Rogers executive director. “This event will encourage community members to recycle unwanted items by selling them, rather than throwing them away and overburdening landfills.”
For more information about the Community Yard Sale, call Friends of Rogers at (607) 674-4733 or e-mail development@FriendsofRogers.org.
Rogers Center is operated by Friends of Rogers Environmental Education Center, Inc., a nonprofit organization that offers educational programs for people of all ages. Seasonal hours are from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, and from 11 am to 3 pm on Sunday.
