Former town of Watertown highway superintendent charged with official misconduct

On May 23, State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Watertown charged John F. Maguire, Jr., 52, of Rodman, with official misconduct, providing a false written statement and petit larceny, all class A misdemeanors. The arrest is pursuant to an investigation into allegations that in 2011 Maguire sold scrap metal belonging to the town of Watertown and used the proceeds to purchase meals and equipment for his employees in highway department. He is scheduled to appear in Watertown Town Court June 2 at 9 a.m.
