Dr. Liz Moran of Cazenovia has been appointed by Gov. Andrew Cuomo to serve on the College Council at Morrisville State College.
Moran is president of EcoLogic, LLC, an environmental consulting firm which focuses on finding cost-effective and environmentally sustainable solutions to watershed and water quality challenges.
A water quality specialist, Moran has more than 30 years of professional experience in limnology and watershed planning. She has successfully completed a number of projects addressing restoration and protection issues that challenge some of the region’s most important water resources.
She serves as a member of the Onondaga Lake Technical Advisory Committee and the North American Lake Management Society.
Moran is also active in the community, serving as a member of the Madison County IDA and as vice-chair of the Madison County Democratic Committee. She served two terms as the Cazenovia Town Supervisor, was a member of the Madison County Board of Supervisors and chaired the Madison County Legislative Committee on Planning, Economic Development, Environmental and Intergovernmental Affairs.
She has served as a board member of the Cazenovia Children’s House.
Moran earned a Ph.D. in water resources, and an M.S. in aquatic science, both from Cornell University, and an A.B. in biology from Clark University. She is married to Dr. Marco Coronado and has three adult children.
