Kingson_TWRepresentative John Conyers has added his name to the growing list of endorsers of Eric Kingson’s campaign for Congress. He joins Democracy for America, BlueAmerica, and Representative Raul Grijalva from Arizona in his support.

The longest-serving member in the House of Representatives, and perennial civil rights activist, offered some kind words for Kingson:

Eric Kingson is a trusted ally of the American people. From his early work in civil rights to his later work in addressing economic insecurities, he has consistently been fighting the right battles. My past experience working with Eric to help stop cuts to Social Security proves to me that he has both great policy knowledge and a keen sense of how to actually make change. I  believe he will be an effective legislator and I would be thrilled if he joined me in the House of Representatives. I am excited to say I officially endorse his candidacy for Congress in New York’s 24th district.

The Kingson campaign is delighted to receive the endorsement. Regarding the news, Eric said:

It is humbling and incredibly meaningful to me to receive the endorsement from Representative Conyers. Not only is Rep. Conyers a recognized leader on civil rights, but he is also an avid spokesman for a restrained American foreign policy, and a fighter for causes that affect working people everywhere. His unwavering commitment to decency and civility serves as a model for all of us.

Campaign co-Manager, Zach Zeliff commented, “the message of his endorsement is clear. Those who have worked with Eric know he cares about and can get things done for working people and their families.”
