William A_ WillsonOn May 13 at approximately 9:20 p.m., State Police in Pulaski responded to a call of a person with a gunshot wound at a residence, 3510 County Route 22 in Orwell. When Troopers arrived they discovered William A. Willson, 57, of 106 Park Drive in Rome, with a gunshot wound to the buttocks.

The investigation determined Willson had discharged three rounds from a 9mm handgun into the ground near Timothy M. Davis’s feet during an argument. Davis then began to retreat back into his residence when Willson continued to follow him onto the front porch. Davis then retrieved a double barrel shotgun from the house and subsequently shot Willson as he turned to leave the porch. Davis was arrested immediately following the incident and charged with second-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Willson turned himself into State Police in Fulton May 23 upon his release from the hospital. He was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and first-degree reckless endangerment, both felonies. Willson was arraigned in Volney Town Court; he is scheduled to return to Redfield Town Court June 15 at 7 p.m.
