Alan Saban, director, actor, dancer, the artistic director for Mountain Theatre Company, and the vice-chairman of Fulton Chain of Lakes Performing Arts Council, will be teaching beginning basic ballroom dances at View this summer. Saban will concentrate on Foxtrot, Cha-Cha, and Waltz. These will mostly be bronze level steps. You will learn the proper way to hold and lead your partner. You will also learn closed and open holds, turns, etc. This will be a group style lesson.
Saban has been dancing for more than 20 years. Saban studied ballroom at Star Ballroom in Pompano Beach Florida and toured with the dance companies La Mystique and Trilogy before becoming a semifinalist on Dance Fever. Saban received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Florida Atlantic University. His directing credits include Quilters: The Musical, Bingo: The Musical, Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks, Little Shop of Horrors, Deathtrap, Greater Tuna, Anastasia, Saturday Night at Billy’s, All in The Timing, and I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change. Saban was also the stand-in for Fisher Stevens on the TV show Key West. A few of his favorite acting credits include Alan in Equus, Over the River and Through the Woods, Anything Goes, Gypsy, Camelot, West Side Story, All The Way Home, Fame, Suddenly Last Summer, and Almost, Maine.
Classes will occur every Thursday night throughout the summer beginning on June 2nd at 6:00 p.m.
