AARP began its Driver Safety courses in 1979 and continues to meet the needs of older drivers through educational programs led by more than 4,000 volunteers. This class will be offered at the Cazenovia Public Library on Saturday, June 25, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
AARP Defensive Driving Course is a classroom refresher course for motorists aged 50+ equipped with years of driving experience. It is designed to update driving knowledge and sharpen driving skills.
Volunteer instructor Don Bregande will be teaching the class. Pre-registration is required. Contact Don at 682-0097 to reserve a spot. The course fee is $20 for AARP members and $25 for non-members. Checks may be brought to the class and made payable to AARP. Cash will be accepted as well.
Completion of the refresher course could result in a 10% reduction in the base rate of your automobile insurance premium for each year for three years. You may also be eligible to reduce points on your driving record.
