Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) Herkimer County is offering a “Safe Chainsaw Operation” workshop for on Wednesday, June 22, at 6:30 pm at the CCE office in East Herkimer. The cost is $5/person or $10/family.
The program will highlight chainsaw safety including common injuries, how to avoid, along with safety features and recommended equipment. The instructor, Mike Burns, is a graduate of the NYS Ranger School and SUNY College of Environmental Science & Forestry and is a consultant forester with 30 years of field experience. For almost a decade, he developed and presented safety, environmental, and business training for professional loggers and was responsible for all operations of New York Logger Training, Inc.
