On the first and third Saturday of every month, Friends of Rogers hosts “Family Fun” programs designed to provide participants of all ages the opportunity to experience hands-on learning about the natural environment. Popular “Family Fun” titles have included Oh For Goodness, Snakes!, Kitchen Science, Lazy Planters, Night Stalkers, Skull Science, Upcycled T-shirts, and What’s Bugging You? For the months of May, June, July and August, this unique educational series is being made possible thanks to the generosity of M&T Bank.
“We are extremely grateful to M&T Bank for partnering with us,” said Simon Solomon, executive director. “Since 2011, when Friends of Rogers saved Rogers Environmental Education Center from closing, we have relied on the generosity of local businesses like M&T Bank to support community activities, allowing this vital resource to be preserved – and to flourish.”
“Family Fun” programs will be hosted at the Hamilton Farmer’s Market for the month of July. Those who visit the Friends of Rogers ‘Family Fun’ table can make “Grow Friends” on July 2 and learn all about “Pond Ecology” on July 16.
Rogers Center is operated by Friends of Rogers Environmental Education Center, Inc., a nonprofit organization that offers educational programs for all ages. Seasonal hours are from 10 am to 4:30 pm Wednesday through Saturday, and from 11 am to 3 pm on Sunday. For more information, call (607) 674-4733 or visit www.friendsofrogers.org.
