Legislation sponsored by Sen. Joe Griffo, who-chairs the state Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus with Assemblywoman Aileen Gunther, and currently in review by other state legislators, would lower the minimum age for big game hunting with a firearm in the state to 12. Conservation and outdoors advocates are encouraging the legislation as a way to encourage youth participation in outdoor activities.
