State Police in Lafayette announce the arrest of Robert G. White, 34, of 1748 Barker Street, Tully; and Cody J. Humphrey, 30, of 8 Pine St., Homer, on two counts of first-degree falsifying business records, a class E felony; and two counts of fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a class A misdemeanor.

Both suspects were charged after an investigation into the missing memorial plaque of Dr. Willis Webster Munson, which was reported missing July 22, 2016, from a fixed monument in the Town of Otisco.

The investigation revealed White and Humphrey sold broken brass pieces of the plaque at a recycling center in Syracuse July 25 and 26.

An employee of the recycling center notified investigators after seeing a report of the missing plaque on the local news.

White and Humphrey were arraigned and remanded to the Onondaga County Justice Center.
